Last 6th septembre 2025, Dr Valentina Pescini has organized the I Paessagi della Transumanza: ricerche di Archeologia Ambientale sul Monte Mongione, that took place in Ormea (Italy), region of Ligurian/Maritime Alps. The goal was to present the current results of Transeant, a project lead by Dr Pescini, that is is been conducted in this region of the Alps, and also in the Eastern Pyrenees (Catalonia, Spain).
The event was focused on presenting the project’s results to the local community and local institutions. Discussions included the history of transhumance in this Alpine region, environmental archaeology, and historical ecology in the Monte Mongioie area, particularly the Piano Rosso pastures. Transeant team members Dr Josep Maria Palet (GIAP-ICAC), Diego Moreno (University of Genoa) and Roberta Cevasco (University of Gastronomic Sciences), also spoke during the presentation.
