5th Roman Period Working Group Meeting International Council for Archaeozoology

Lídia Colominas and Rosa Soler participated this week in the “5th Roman Period Working Group Meeting International Council for Archaeozoology”, that took place in the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Lisbon (Portugal) from the 30th of June until the 3rd of July.

The conference provided an excellent forum to share results, concerns and ideas about how and what can be investigated through archaeozoology to provide information on Roman society.

Lídia Colominas, together with Jacinto Sánchez Gil de Montes (Global Mediterranean Geomatic) and Josep Antón Remolà (MNAT) presented a talk entitled: The cult of Mithras in the Roman Villa of Els Munts (Catalonia): an archaeozoological approach to its mysteries.

Rosa Soler, together with Carlos Tornero (UAB) and Lídia Colominas, presented a talk entitled: Systematisation of sheep reproductive strategies during the Roman period in Northeastern Iberia? A biogeochemical approach.

We hope to see you all again at the next congress!
