
We are proud to share that Dr Patricia Vandorpe, Dr Jessica Feito, Dr Alexandra Livarda and PhD candidate Theoni Baniou participated in the International Work Group for Palaeoethnobotany (IWGP) 2025, that was taking place in Groningen (the Netherlands) from the 21st to the 25th of July, presenting their ongoing research and innovative contributions.
Patricia Vandorpe gave a presentation “From seed to society: Roman dietary influences in the northern Germanic territories of the Empire” which resumes the results of her ongoing MSCA Project ‘PlantNetGem’ (MSCA-2021-PF-01-101063192).
Theoni Baniou gave a presentation “Culinary choices, cooking practices and the socio-economy of fruits at the east of Hispania: a multi-proxy approach to foodways of Roman Guissona” which resumes the results of hew ongoing PhD.
Jessica Feito presented her poster titled “Buried in barley: Domestic Foodways from Lydian Sardis”. Jessica is conducting the MSCA Project ‘FoodMod-RGB’ (HORIZON-MSCA-2023-PF-01)
Alexandra Livarda was co-author of the two presentations as she is the Principal Investigator (PI) on Patricia’s project and Theoni’s supervisor.
