WEBINAR PRESENTATION OF THE FIRST RESULTS OF THE MSCA PLANTNETGEM PROJECT

On Friday 17 January 2025, postdoctoral fellow Patricia Vandorpe organised a webinar to present the first results of her MSCA project ‘PlantNetGem’. The presentation, entitled ‘The influence of Roman food culture in the northern provinces of the Roman Empire and beyond’, was aimed at all archaeobotanists working in the project’s research area who have contributed valuable data to the project.

The hour-long presentation was followed by an interesting and fruitful discussion, where fellow archaeobotanists shared their views on the data and had the opportunity to get the first glimpse of the results joining all the data together. The webinar certainly gave the team much food for thought for the continuation of the project and we very much thank all participants for their generosity in sharing data and ideas with us!

The event was organised within the framework of the Project PlantNetGem (Horizon MSCA-2021-PF-01, Proposal number 101063192): Exploring the process of urbanisation in the Roman provinces of Germania through the study of food plant commerce.
