Rome and the Pyrenees. The formation of cultural landscapes in high mountain areas

ACADEMIA MARGINALIS is a project promoted by the professors of the Department of Art History of the University of Barcelona Juan Miguel Muñoz Corbalán and Núria Torras Benezet that consists of a series of conferences, presentations and social gatherings that will take place from February to May of 2022.

You can check out the full program here.

The aim of the project is to offer classes on attractive topics that are not usually discussed in the classroom within the stipulated syllabi of the degrees. Various topics will be covered, such as miscellany, which are of interest to the public, both for students (who will be able to obtain two ECTS credits) and for other external assistants. UB teaching staff but also teaching and research staff from other institutions take part in teaching.

GIAP co-director and ICAC director Josep Maria Palet will give the session on February 21 (from 6.45 pm to 8.45 pm) on “Rome and the Pyrenees. The formation of cultural landscapes in high mountain areas” (in Catalan).

The session will feature a one-and-a-half-hour presentation by the speaker, with a half-hour space for a talk or gathering with attendees. The sessions will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Geography and History of the UB (lectures on Wednesdays) and in the Byron Bookshop (Casanova, 32, Barcelona) with regard to the sessions on Monday.

The cycle will culminate in a jazz concert where the relationship between musical and artistic languages will be discussed.
