From July 3 to 10, Dr. Lídia Colominas was in southern Tuscany (Italy) collaborating on the Marzuolo Archeological Project (MAP). There, Dr. Colominas analysed the faunal remains of Podere Marzuolo site (ca. 2 ha), a rural craft centre that was occupied between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century AD.
The project directors, Astrid Van Oyen (Radboud University), Rhodora Vennarucci (Denison University) and Gijs Tol (University of Melbourne), gave Lídia all the facilities to reconcile family and work, in an unbeatable environment where archaeology, animal bones, swimming pool and Italian pasta came together in a fantastic way.
Soon we will have the pleasure of reading the monograph of the site and knowing all the details of this interesting artisanal production centre.
