RADICI conference – June 3-4 (online)
RADICI is an online conference dedicated to archaeobotany in Italy, conceived as an opportunity for exchange and discussion among scholars working in this field of research.
The programme brings together contributions addressing some of the discipline’s main thematic areas: the reconstruction of past environments, through the study of botanical evidence and ecological and climatic dynamics; the theme of gathering and transforming, which focuses on the use, management, and processing of plant resources in past societies; the relationship between plants and human communities, in its cultural, symbolic, and social dimensions; and finally methodological innovations, with particular attention to the archiving, analysis, and visualisation of archaeobotanical data.
The conference will also feature two keynote lectures (Dr. Gabriel Servera Vives and Prof. Marta Mariotti Lippi), devoted to topics of particular relevance to current debates, and will conclude with a final round table, conceived as a shared space for discussion on the present and future of archaeobotany in Italy.
