
On Saturday 22nd February 2025, Dr Josep Maria Palet has led an oral presentation during the International online seminar «Determinisms and cultural geographies? A micropolitical approach to archaeology of mountain landscapes».
Under the title “Cultural landscapes and livestock activities on a long-term perspective in high mountain environments in the Eastern Pyrenees (Segre and Ter valleys, NE Iberian Peninsula)”, he presented the different case studies where the GIAP team is currently working in the Eastern Pyrenees.
The presentation has been co-authored by Dr Arnau Carbonell, Dr Lídia Colominas, Dr Valentina Pescini, Dr Jesús Martínez, Dr Marta Flórez and Dr Alfredo Mayoral.
This meeting has been organized within the framework of the research project “Archaeology of local societies in Southern Europe: identities, collectives and territorialities (5th-11th centuries)”, Ref. PID2020-112506GB-C41, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (https://enproyectosocloc.wordpress.com) and “Los paisajes productivos preindustriales y su impacto medioambiental: un análisis comparado entre las Sierras de Guadarrama y Monfragüe”, Ref. 3202/202, funded the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
