Participation in the 50th International Mediterranean Survey Workshop (Leuven 26-27 March 2026)

GIAP member Arnau Garcia-Molsosa participated in the 50th Edition of the International Mediterranean Survey Workshop that took place at the University of Leuven (Belgium) the 26th and 27th of March 2026.

Representing MEDLANDS team, Dr. Garcia-Molsosa presented the paper:  Fieldwalking and integrated Remote Sensing approaches in the context of a multi-disciplinary and multi-scale landscape Archaeology research program in the rural territory of Ancient Abdera (Xanthe, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Greece). The paper was co-authored by MEDLANDS team members M. Georgiadis; A. Mayoral; A. Ejarque; E. Kefalidou; C. Kallintzi; I. Mattuzzi; G. Apostolou; J. Martínez; E. Brachos; A. Carbonell; A. Delioridis; E. Tsiompikou; K. Chatziprokopiou; D. Skoulariki and M. Chrysafi.

The paper discussed the current state of the landscape archaeology research in the territory of Ancient Abdera, and how MEDLANDS is integrating archaeological survey datasets with multi-scale remote sensing techniques, alongside multi-proxy geoarchaeological and palaeoecological research.
